Learning shapes not only helps children identify and organize visual information, it helps them learn skills in other curriculum areas including reading, math and science. Learning shapes also helps children understand other signs and symbols and continues their growth in understanding numbers and letters!

Little Tykes Camps FAQ

How old does my child need to be in order to attend Little Tykes Camp?

All children ages 2 years through Kindergarten are welcomed to join the fun.

What will my child do all day?

Kids will be busy, busy, busy ALL day long! They will participate in activities including: group games, story time, circle time, arts and crafts, free-play time, gymnastics or ninja class, and Open Gym.

Who instructs the Gymnastics or Ninja Zone classes?

Flying High’s experience instructors host the Gymnastics and Ninja Zone classes.

*Please note that the gymnastics and ninja classes offered in our camp were created for the kids so stay active and fun while building strength, flexibility, endurance, and confidence. These recreational camp classes are not grouped by skill levels. If your child is currently enrolled in Flying High classes, our recreational camp classes are not intended to replace those classes.

What should my child bring?

Children should come dressed in comfortable, season appropriate clothing that can get dirty, since some activities we do on a daily basis are messy. A spare change of clothes is required for all children in case of soiling of clothes. Children under the age of 3, and those who are potty-training require at least two change of clothing (including socks). We want to keep your children happy and comfortable. Children are welcome to bring a water bottle and snacks. We ask that you clearly label all his/her belongings with the child’s name; 1 gallon Ziploc bag works great or a small backpack.

What is your Bathroom Policy?

We do accept children who are two years old in diapers and we are happy to help you and your child with the toilet training process; however for the health and safety of children, parents or legal guardians are responsible for changing their child’s diapers. When your child is potty-training, it is essential that your child be dressed in “user-friendly" clothing. Please no one-piece outfits or overalls. These items deter from the training process. We will do our best to work with your child and let you know how they are doing each day.

What is the drop-off/pick-up procedure?

Parents will drop-off and pick-up their children in our camp room on the second floor. An adult MUST sign the child in and out of camp every day. Please notify the Director when someone other than the parents or guardians will be picking up your child as an Authorization Drop-off/Pick-up form must be filled out.

Is before and/or after care available?

No. Our Little Tykes Camp begins promptly at 9am and ends at 12pm. We encourage you to drop off and pick up your child on time. Children who are picked up later than the end of camp will be billed $20.00 for the first 15 minutes and $1 every minute afterwards beyond the time camp has ended. This balance will be run to the credit card on file. Flying High will keep a child in its care for no longer than 1 hour, unless notified by the child’s family, before contacting the appropriate authorities.

Will snack or lunch be provided?

Flying High will provide a daily snack. Snacks will include Cheez-Its, Goldfish crackers, Animal Crackers, and Chex Mix. We will make accommodations for children requiring a special diet when able and when not able, we will ask the parents/guardians to provide an appropriate snack for their child.
